one thing internet has taught me is that, in general, people aren't terribly good at finding healthy avenues to vent their emotions

i'm not talking about anyone in particular, and not "taking sides" or whatever other schoolyard bullshit people like to assume is happening on here

but overall, people need to stop taking everything so fucking personally


if you don't like someone, or an instance, block it. mute it. move on.

not everything needs a tumblr-esque cancellation campaign waged against it. not everything you take issue with needs some kind of social justice validation behind it.

not everything requires your input. or a response. escalation and counter-escalation are a thing and the fact so few people on this platform recognize that is very worrying.

Sounds like something people should have known, when they chased off will wheaton from the platform.
