caught a snippet of a radio show the other day that was like "what thing would you give up to never pay taxes again" and i just kinda sat there like?? is that a thing people want??? like outside of the people who actually *need* that $126 a month or w/e out of their income for food and rent and stuff?? like people are out there just, desperate to not pay taxes??

valid things to complain about:
-i can't afford to pay this much tax
-our tax money goes to military funding and industry bailouts and doesn't actually help support us as a nation
-paying taxes is complex and an accessibility issue for many

it doesn't require any thought or effort on my part, and i'm fortunate enough to not need that extra money from my paycheck about 2/3rds of the time lol. what an incredibly sick ass concept that doesn't really work in practice in our current system

like i mean i guess to boil down my point; i fucking hate taxes but i hate that they're broken and they don't work like they're supposed to?? i hate that the taxes i pay essentially go to destroy communities that we all then have to do the groundwork to support and save. i hate that we're forced to be complicit in an imperialist war machine and so on u kno. but like neolibs and conservative fucknuts love that shit why are they complaining lol

like all our own government's bs aside taxes are awesome??? i literally love the concept of taxes and i wish we lived in a world where giving up a predetermined percentage of my paycheck was literally all i had to do to help maintain infrastructure and support struggling people???
